Zhu (Judy) Chen is the president of Homeland Mortgage Company, which she founded with her sister Helen in 2002. She oversees residential mortgage loan brokering, including origination, processing, underwriting, closing, and post-closing. She also develops policies and procedures, and supervises the training of new employees. Judy has led Homeland to become one of the top Asian-owned mortgage companies in Illinois. The firm’s total origination volume sits in the multi-billions for more than 4,000 clients. Previously, Judy served as vice president at Fortune Mortgage Company for eight years, where she was the top loan originator in the Chicagoland Asian loan market in 2001, originating $200 million in loans that year. She earned a bachelor’s degree in architecture at a university in China, and has two master’s degrees from the University of Illinois at Chicago, one in business administration, and one in urban planning and policy. Judy is fluent in Mandarin Chinese and holds real estate broker and loan originator licenses.
